Kushing Girls Farm is a small family owned and operated alpaca farm nestled in the rolling hills of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. We heard about alpaca farming from some friends and relatives back around 2002. At that time we were busy with our lives and didn’t think much more about it. In 2010 we started thinking about retirement, and what we would do to keep busy once we retired. The idea of raising alpacas was considered and we started doing some research. We visited farms and attended alpaca shows and found that we were hooked on the alpacas. In July of 2011 after a long search we purchased a house and property and began building a farm. We started by having about 5 acres fenced and our first barn built. In February of 2012 we purchased our first 4 alpacas. Our first alpacas were girls, one white, one black, one gray and one bay black (dark brown). We soon had them bred and our first cria (baby alpaca) was a brown boy. We continued to have boys which prompted us to build another barn for the boys. We finally had our first girl in 2015 which is where were at now.
